I've met people who burned ahead of the textbook to make life easier for themselves. I was definitely envious of the time-management potential. But also, how often did the teacher tells us to skip questions 7, 12, 15-22, and only do part C of question 30? I suppose that guy still learnt a lot more doing everything though. But definitely make sure either the textbook matches the course, or the classroom matches your schedule. Getting either of those wrong is pretty awkward.
