I'm not a sporty person. If a ball comes towards me, ducking is my first instinct. But the Olympics are a special treat, because listening to the announcers get excited and explain the history of the game, the athletes, the techniques they're using, makes everything sound like an exciting documentary. Scowling at a bad play, or cheering at a particularly well set move, when told to by the announcer, makes me feel like I have the knowledge of a professional athlete. Just don't ask me who's going to win a match of anything. I'm watching this for the performance.
