Edge of desperation
2018-05-28
Being without Internet is becoming a progressively rarer experience, but I had the joy of going through it today for a full day, while engaging in an activity that typically requires me to frequently check something online.
But I had no Internet. Bummer.
As such, I had to delve into the recesses of my mind to try to recall the things I wanted to look up and shockingly, I already knew everything I wanted to search for. So why was I always reaching for a search engine? Have these things weakened our brain's ability to perform its own searches through our overreliance on them?
That's a scary thought. I wonder if anybody else has discussed this online. Maybe I'll go check to see if my opinion is valid...
