The one thing I was never prepared for was homework on the first week back to school. Especially not the first day. Each new grade is shockingly more difficult than the last and for some reason everybody always finds this surprising. Perhaps it shouldn't be. After all, we end the year with exams, then drop directly into vacation. Would you want the teachers to give you progressively less assignments after that to ease into relaxation?
