It's my pleasure
2016-10-31
I'm taking a wild guess, but I suspect the modern day implementation of Halloween deviates quite strongly from what it was originally intended for. In fact, a quick check reveals that, as we all know, it is "All Hallows' Eve", yet the actual holiday being recoginsed here is called "Hallowmas"! Like Christmas. Freaky!
So it's a religious holiday. Like Christmas.
Should I feel upset that it's been commercialised with candy, costumes, and decorations to the point of being unrecognisable? I guess that depends on whether or not I'm upset at Santa, Christmas trees, and presents in December.
Nah, who am I kidding? Halloween is my second favourite holiday! Who doesn't love the creative spirit this day represents or the cavity inducing avalanche of candy unleashed by generous strangers?
Happy Halloween everyone!
