I was indeed wishing I could just stop everything and spend time with my family today. But there's so many things that need doing each day. And then my ceiling light flickered a bit, twinkled for a second, and plinked out. I assumed my light had died, as it does. But my computer was also off, so that was more of a coincidence than I imagined would be possible for a light burning out. A power outage was at hand. I've gotten to spend the day at the mall shopping, taking a stroll and chatting with the street neighbours, and visiting our friends down the road for the evening. When we got back home around 10:30pm, the power had just barely returned 10 minutes earlier and the food we'd been cooking on the oven was already cooked! Because the oven had turned back on and... well, it's really good we got back only 10 minutes after it turned on again. I'm glad we lost power. Really glad.
