With the Internet, YouTube, Netflix, and all that, reading seems to be a dying activity. People are watching YouTube at double speed, if a page takes more than a few seconds to load we skip on to another one, so how could we possibly tolerate the delay in reading a 300-500 page book? Which I read as a kid, the hobby usually drops off the radar for years at a time if nobody is prodding me to read some particular tome. Having recently decided I needed some time away from the screen, I found a whole host of new books from an author I liked so I started into one... then quickly the next, and the next... I'm now about four and a half books in after a month. Currently reading a book of backstories so I can know everything about this universe. Yay!
