Striking a balance
I seem to remember eating whole wheat bread as a child, because that's all there was. It wasn't bad! But when I lived on my own, I discovered the amazingness of white bread. Soft as a cloud, tastes like angel wings, the perfect sandwich material. But wisdom demands whole wheat to stave off human frailty. Going back to it after so long has been quite a shock. I'm pretty sure there's no potting soil in my bread, but I certainly couldn't base that opinion on the taste. Bleck.
