Designated awesomeness
2019-02-18
Once you pass the age of 16 or so, it starts to get more tricky to watch what seems like a kid's movie without taking a kid. Such was my problem in seeing the Lego Movie 2.
Luckily, I secured an unwitting child and watched it! It was amazing. I was well prepared for it being 80% as good as the first one, but I think it might have been as good or better in parts. Fantastic!
Although, I did notice that the adults in the audience were laughing quite a lot more than the kids. This movie is definitely written with an adult audience in mind. Catching all of the references was exhausting. I looked away from the screen for 2 seconds and missed about three of them.
If you're an adult, go see it! Especially if you grew up in the 80s/90s. I guess you could bring a kid if necessary. They might like it too.
Everybody go see the Lego Movie 2!
