The "desktop" as a computing metaphor is perhaps a bit more realistic than many of us would like. My real desktop usually resembles my computer's desktop if I don't keep scooping everything up and throwing it somewhere else. By now I just have a bunch of boxes and folders labelled by year. Some day I'll go sort them out. Do you have any desktop icon strategies? It's just so easy to put it on the desktop and worry about it later! That's what it's for!
