Chinese New Year (or Spring Festival) is coming up soon! To mark the occasion, I'll be drawing the twelve animals with their associated elements, heavenly stems, and earthly branches. The Chinese system has a 60 year cycle (you thought it was 12, ha!), because that's how long it takes both of the stems to come back to the same characters. Complicated! Twelve years ago it was the year of the dog, and not just any dog, a fire dog! This one is trying to catch his fire ball, though whether or not his owner wants it returned is questionable.
